Colorado's Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Earmark:
FY 2006: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Earmark is $1,163,133.
The funds are used in the following ways to enhance the Colorado infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may be used to support these activities):
- Expanding Quality (EQ) in Infant/Toddler Care (continuation and enhancement of the training for grantees of infant and toddler quality expansion grants awarded in 2000 mentioned below).
- Quality expansion activities
through the Consolidated Child Care Pilot communities.
FY 2004:
The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Earmark was $1,170,886.
The funds were used in the following ways to enhance the Colorado infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may have been used to support these activities):
- Training for grantees of infant and toddler quality expansion grants awarded in 2000. The training continues to be enhanced and offered under a contract with the Colorado Department of Education.
- CARES initiative (in metropolitan Denver counties), which focuses on training child care providers to comfortably care for infants and toddlers with special health care needs.
- Quality expansion activities
through the Consolidated Child Care Pilot communities.
- Training and technical assistance to
directors at selected child care centers.
